RPM Road Safety Seminar (CSR Program)

Since the 2023 academic year, RPM Co., Ltd. has been actively conducting educational programs at universities and colleges across Taiwan. This year, RPM partnered with the Department of Transportation Management at Tamkang University to organize a year-long series of Road Safety Seminars. Led by RPM CEO Jackie Huang and the company’s professional team, the program delivered a comprehensive range of road safety courses to students throughout the academic year.

For many university students, college is the stage of life when they legally obtain their motorcycle licenses. However, despite being licensed riders, many still lack sufficient real-world riding experience. This gap in knowledge and practical experience can easily lead to dangerous situations on the road. With nearly 40 years of dedication to enhancing motorcycle performance and safety, RPM places great importance on promoting road safety education. In collaboration with Tamkang University’s Department of Transportation Management, RPM launched this road safety lecture series with the goal of improving students’ motorcycle knowledge and cultivating safe riding habits.

In addition to covering essential road safety concepts, course instructor Sheng-Yi Gheng, Department Manager, provided detailed explanations of newly introduced traffic regulations and analyzed both historical and recent traffic accident cases. Students were also taken outside the classroom to conduct on-site observations and discussions of key traffic conditions surrounding the university campus. Furthermore, industry professionals were invited as guest speakers to share their expertise and practical insights. Through these activities, students were reminded not only to comply with traffic laws and avoid penalties, but also to prioritize personal safety and contribute to a culture of mutual respect, courtesy, and responsibility among all road users.

RPM also assigned Raymond Lin, Director of Product Development, to introduce the fundamentals of motorcycle engineering and the safety functions of key motorcycle components. His sessions helped students better understand how their motorcycles operate and how to identify potential mechanical issues. By gaining a deeper understanding of motorcycle systems and safety features, students are better equipped to ride safely and confidently under a variety of road conditions.

This collaboration with Tamkang University’s Department of Transportation Management highlights the importance of strengthening connections between industry and academia. It also provided RPM with an opportunity to share nearly four decades of accumulated motorcycle expertise with the next generation. RPM hopes that this series of road safety seminars will serve as a meaningful contribution to society, planting the seeds of safe riding awareness and helping spread responsible road-use behavior throughout the community.
